The purpose of this year long, repeatable course is to give the student an increased appreciation of and additional experience in theater as an art form. The student will act, direct, or be technically involved in scenes, one-act plays or full-length productions. Emphasis is placed on character development, blocking, tempo, and scene interaction. The student will learn the art behind applying stage make-up, set building, costume designing, stage lightening, and back stage production. He will read and evaluate plays, as well as view and critique electronic and live performances. Through creating theater, the student will grow in his ability to comprehend and communicate with others.
