Vonda Chapman is the Elementary Principal at Berean Baptist Academy.
She is the youngest of three children. Her brother, Jimmy, is a preacher, and her sister, Gloria, was a Clinique makeup representative. Gloria, her very best friend, went home to Heaven in August 2008. Heaven is getting sweeter all of the time. Her parents are retired and enjoy living next to the Savannah River. Vonda enjoyed the blessings of growing up in a Christian home. She asked the Lord to save her after a Sunday School lesson on Heaven when she was six years old. Serving the Lord has always been the most important thing in her life.
Vonda graduated from Sterling Baptist Christian School. After graduation, she managed two Revco drugstores and was considering pharmacy school when God made it very evident to her that He wanted her to pursue teaching and attend a Christian college. Vonda graduated from Crown College in 1995 with a double major in Secondary and Elementary Education.
Soon after graduation, Vonda left south Georgia to become the fourth grade teacher at the Academy. Over the years, Miss Chapman has taught many grades and subjects at BBA. Her favorite class of all has been high school girls' Bible. She also coached elementary and varsity softball, and junior varsity and varsity volleyball.
Vonda counts it a true privilege to continue to work for Berean Baptist Church as the Children's Director and for the Academy. "To do what I love and then to get paid for it is incredible! I cannot imagine being anywhere else. God definitely has His hand on this ministry and the leadership here."
Vonda's favorite sports are fishing, hunting, and tennis. In her free time, she likes to shop; she likes jewelry, seashells, and lighthouses. She enjoys eating at Zaxby's and Chick-fil-A. Some of her favorite goodies are Diet Coke, Zero candy bars, and old fashioned Tootsie Rolls.
