BBA Staff Profile...

Mr. Nate Torberson
Jr. High History, Bible, Math, Finance

Mr. Nate Torberson is a native son of South Dakota.  He was saved at the age of nine under the preaching of his father, the pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Mitchell, SD. As a teen, Nate was very involved in the political process, working for several state and national campaigns, and serving as a page in the South Dakota House of Representatives.

Nate attended Pensacola Christian College, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2003. He began a career in the U.S. Army, and in 2004, Nate and his wife Reyna (also a PCC Grad) moved to Fort Bragg, NC. The Lord gave Nate a broad range of experiences throughout his military career as a Special Operations Civil Affairs Specialist, including tours throughout the Middle East, South-Central Asia, and Central America, and a tour as an instructor at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg. It was during his time as an instructor that Nate first realized his love of teaching. In 2011, the Lord led Nate and Reyna to separate from the Army and pursue a life of ministry through education. Nate began teaching at Berean in the fall of 2011.

Mr. Torberson teaches a variety of classes at BBA, including 7th and 8th grade History, 8th grade Bible, Consumer Math, Finance, and Economics and Worldview. Nate and Reyna have been active members of Berean Baptist Church since 2004 and have served in a variety of ministries there, including Sunday School, nursery, and visitation. The Torbersons reside with their two children, Evelyn and Alejandro, on a small property near Fayetteville, where Nate is pursuing his other passion, farming.
